The family he has been with the past four years hasn’t been half bad, but he’s reached the age limit for foster care and is about to be sent packing. There’s a lot of action, powerful description of really weird, gross situations within the first couple of chapters, the main character cuts up a pig and is discovered with the partially dismembered corpse and a saw in his hands I thought that the beast by Ally Kennen beat weriod and intresting at the same time.

Dec 28, Elie Ayache rated it beas was amazing.

I found Carol a lot more interesting, perhaps because I as a reader kennfn actions and then read interpretations from them instead of being told everything. But his extraordinary struggle to free himself of his Beast beasf him a hero you will never forget.

May 04, Nikkita rated it it was amazing. Kennan takes an unrealistic situation and makes it not only realistic, but rather wonderful and hopeful. It began to make more sense, have a bit more life to it as well. Facebook Twitter Instagram Pinterest.

Jun 03, Kara rated it liked it. Stephen, the main character, starts the book with a list of the worst things he’s done in his life. Its existence is unknown to anyone except the teenage boy who feeds it. I would read her other books.

Every time it came running at Stephen I expected it to lick his hand innocently and cuddle its head against him. It is narrated by Stephen, a troubled boy of seventeen from a violent, unstable, and now broken home, who lives with a foster family who are also slightly dysfunctional at least as far as he is concerned. If i had to rate the book on a scale it would be a 7.

It was a little hard to take that Stephen hardly reacted but he definitely had good reasons not to. BEAST contains the stuff of nightmares and is sure to entertain even the most reluctant reader. Stephen hasn’t had it easy.

Alcohol use, drug use, some mentions of porn, and the complexity of Stephen’s history make this a book that is better for high schoolers than middle schoolers. The character knenen Stephen himself is strongly sketched. He is clearly intelligent, but crippled in this regard by a patchy formal education and the usual delinquent distrust of book-learning; he shows embarrassment at his own interest in biological or geographical matters, at one point even apologising to the reader: He impersonates akly mother and writes to a man, called Lenny, who is in a death row in the USA, because he allegedly had killed a teenager.

Beast by Ally Kennen | LoveReading

I would recommend Beast to anyone who like a little okey a lot of suspense served with a down right gripping story about the young life of a boy who messes up but tries to make the best of it. I’ve no idea whether this is enough, but it keeps the Beast alive. Kennrn the Beast is growing both in size and in appetite, and Stephen fears that the cage may not be able to hold it for much longer.
